Hi, I’m Sophie — a born-and-bred city girl who grew up and worked in central London before moving to Amsterdam six years ago for a job (an easy yes — my husband is Dutch!).

I’ve spent my entire professional career in the film industry, working with clients around the world and with teams in London and LA to oversee international marketing campaigns on a number of acclaimed films. After becoming a mum to two little ones, I pivoted into consulting — but I also had a niggling desire to create something I hadn’t quite found while navigating motherhood in Amsterdam: curated, English-language inspiration delivered in a voice that genuinely spoke to me. And so, voilà, Heels & Wheels was born!

From navigating pregnancy and childbirth to finding the right schools and activities (for kids and grown-ups alike), making friends, renovating a house and discovering the best of city life and beyond, I’ve been through it all — and learned a lot along the way. Living in Amsterdam’s international Zuid district, I continue to experience these adventures alongside my own young family every day.

Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose. Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
