Fast, Fresh and Nutritious: Three Essential Pit Stops for Mums on the Go

The Lowdown

Some days you look up and realise it’s 2pm, you haven’t stopped and your stomach is reminding you that coffee alone doesn’t count as lunch. When you’re racing between school drop-offs, meetings and a never-ending to-do list, finding something quick, nutritious and genuinely delicious can feel surprisingly difficult. These are the places we rely on when time is short — but standards remain high.

Oliver Green

At Oliver Green, healthy food is kept beautifully simple. Think whole, unprocessed ingredients all freshly prepared.

Whether you’re craving a nourishing breakfast bowl, a generously filled wrap, a light salad or a warm bowl of comforting goodness, Oliver Green offers something for every time of day and every kind of mood. The bowls are beautifully presented, and while everything is available for take away/delivery the restaurants themselves are clean, calm and inviting — ideal for a quick pit-stop where you can actually pause and enjoy what you’re eating.

They have two separate locations in Zuid and one location in Oud-West and given the popularity I wouldn’t be surprised to see more to follow!

Juice Brothers

Best known for their delicious organic cold-pressed juices — Juice Brothers earn their place in our top three thanks to the fact they also make some of the most outrageously good açaí bowls in the city. Order one topped with their house-made granola and you’ll understand why this feels like breakfast heaven in a bowl. The shops are on the smaller side, but there’s space to sit if you can’t wait to take it home — and honestly, you might not be able to.

With four stores evenly distributed across the city, it’s an easy, reliable stop whenever you have an açaí craving - because let’s be honest — açaí is basically mum fuel in a bowl.

SLA

Probably the best known and most established on our list, SLA has been around long enough to leave a real imprint on the city — and beyond. If you don’t already know it, you should. With a thoughtfully curated menu that goes well beyond salads to include nourishing warm bowls and soups, using unprocessed and sustainably sourced ingredients. Add to that their signature greenhouse-style interiors, and eating in becomes an especially inviting option.

Service is lightning-fast — they know their audience — and with locations across the city, there’s always one nearby when time is not on your side.
